Wildfire & Ember-Resistant Roofing in Boise

Wind-blown embers are a major way homes catch fire during wildfires. Homes near the Boise foothills and open rangeland are especially exposed.

Choose a Class A fire-rated roof assembly.
Use ember-resistant vents (fine mesh, about 1/8 inch), or retrofit screens on existing vents.
Clear needles and leaves out of the gutters and roof valleys, and consider noncombustible gutter guards.
Seal gaps at the ridge and the eaves.
